Puttin' on the Ritz at Chanel

Take a cue from the look Lily-Rose Depp sported at the Ritz Paris for Chanel’s Metiers d’Art show. The muse to the house was the epitome of elegant makeup for any age – radiant skin, smoky eyes and a graphic surprise of white on the eyes.

Bella Hadid is officially the It model of the moment.

Following her recent tie-ups with Fendi and Dior Beauty (amongst others), the 20 year-old now can add another feather to her cap as the new face of Bulgari. Hadid will front the Italian brand’s Fall/Winter 2017 accessories collection – which will include the signature Serpenti bags – debuting at Milan Fashion Week later this month.

Italian culture was at the heart of the event, with an array of orchestral performances, scenographic light shows, and dance music by DJ Mokai. Singer Matteo Brancaleoni, one of the leading Italian jazz interpreters, brought on stage the best 10 songs of his repertoire. Before guests danced away the evening at the party held in the Yacht Club, Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin spoke of his pride at the resort’s launch.

He said: “This is a momentous day for us here at Bulgari, to launch in one of the most talked about cities in the world. We hope this architectural masterpiece, not only the stunning design of the resort by our architectural team, but the magnificence of a seahorse-shaped island, will truly put The Bulgari Resort Dubai on the map as being one of the city’s most iconic destinations”.

“The key focus here is the tension between technology and nature, the visible and the hidden, and the ancestral theme of vanity in painting which traditionally, addresses questions about representation and the human condition in general.”

"I think I felt more free with furniture. I like art totale, which means that everything can be art; a table can be a piece of art. Everybody has a judgment on paintings, but with furniture, people just say, 'Oh, I like this table, I’ll buy it!' It’s more personal. Sometimes art is so scrutinized that people don’t know if they really like it personally or because they’re told that it’s nice." - Hubert Le Gall
