6 Hair Trends at the Cannes Film Festival 2022
L'Officiel Singapore rounds up all of the hair trends spotted at the Cannes Film Festival 2022.
Besides the array of diverse films available for show at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival, the event also saw celebrities parading down red carpets in their best designer fits and trending beauty looks.
Below, we round up six hair trends we've spotted on stars like Anne Hathaway, Bella Hadid, and more at Festival de Cannes.
Au Naturel
This season's go-to hair trend is all about keeping it simple. Stars like IU, Jenna Coleman, Anne Hathaway, Kylie Minogue and Julianne Moore all opted to leave their hair down in their natural state, accentuating their classy designer ensembles with a touch of simplicity.
Side-Swept
Just like the Oscars earlier this year, side-swept hair has made yet another appearance on the heads of celebrities. This trendy style can be seen executed in a messy (as seen on Kristen Stewart) and clean manner – on models Poppy Delevingne and Candice Swanepoel.
Messy Updo
What better way to dishevel the "clean girl" aesthetic than to add an element of disarray to one's look? Actresses Margaret Qualley and Kristen Stewart both chose to pair their preppy designer Chanel outfits with casual updos and messy tendrils.
Slicked-Back Bun
Deepika Padukone, Bella Hadid and Jasmine Tookes went for the classiest updo there is: The slicked-back bun – the best hairstyle there is to complement and show off big statement jewellery pieces on the ears and necklines of stars.
Curls Galore
Curls, curls, and more curls. Cannes saw celebrities like Kat Graham, Julia Roberts, and Andie Macdowell showing off their natural waves at the event. And you know what they say – you can't go wrong with volume.
Messy Pony
Say goodbye to neat ponytails; many are now opting for messier ponytail styles. Actresses Eva Longoria and Deepika Padukone both chose to partake in the rising hair trend with two different executions of the intentionally-unkempt pony.
