There's nothing more regal than a traditional updo to accentuate a gorgeous gown. Better yet &ndash; if effort is put into said updo to make it look as intricate as possible. Celebrities like Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Demi Singleton and first-time Oscar award-winner Jessica Chastain all opted for different variations of the classy updo &ndash; often seen on stars back in the day during awards season.
Zendaya kept hers stylishly messy while Nyong'o, Singleton and Chastain went for a more pulled-together hairstyle to better complement their ensembles.&nbsp;

We've said this time and time again, but you can't go wrong with a classic red lip. It is, after all, a trend we've already predicted to dominate 2022. As expected, stars Tracee Ellis Ross and Nicole Kidman partook in the trend, decorating their lips with a strong vermilion shade that make a statement of their own.
Ross chose to match the shade of her lips to the red of her dress while Kidman went for a contrasting dynamic to counter the pastel blue hue of her gown.

A hair trend we haven't seen in a while &ndash; the side-swept hair is back and better than ever. Decorating the heads of both Oscar-nominated actresses Kristen Stewart and Pen&eacute;lope Cruz, their neat yet shaggy hair only went to add a touch of effortless style to their smart black numbers.
Although both hairstyles are inherently similar, Stewart opted for a messier look to match her unconventional award show fit and cool personality while Cruz stayed with a more tamed version of the trend to complement her feminine mystique.&nbsp;

Think of barely-there makeup as like a first cousin to the no-makeup-makeup trend. It's not quite nothing, but more of a subtle pop of makeup on a well-prepped canvas. Artists and stars Billie Eilish, Lily James, Jessie Buckley and Alana Haim all went for a "less is more" approach to draw more attention to their hair and fits.&nbsp;
Eilish and Buckley &ndash; to emphasise their yin and yang hair colours, and James and Haim to pull focus to their eyes with a little shimmer and pink here and there.

Of course, the cat-eye liner never goes out of style. Favoured by that of actresses with angular features such as Zo&euml; Kravitz and Vanessa Hudgens, the liner adds a sharper, more defined look to their already piercing looks.
Both stars also opted for a neat updo and gowns that bared their clavicle and shoulders to add to that Catwoman-esque allure they both naturally possess.&nbsp;
