Runway: Coach 1941 SS17
Rebellion and counter-culture! The great hallmarks of American youth has been driving Stuart Vevers' inspiration for his collections for Coach 1941. This season, he takes on the greased up grunge of the Beatniks. The models walked around a set piece of stacked cars, toting souped up versions of the Dinky bag. Crazy tassels, appliquéd flowers, funky patches and occasionally photos of Elvis Presley. The shoes here, too, were dramatic. Platform creepers with spiked studs, fringed leather panels, and high-shine metallic finishes. This is a girl who stomps, not prances. In line with the industry's move towards satisfying consumer impatience with See-Now-Buy-Now, Coach 1941 has also released a ready-to-buy capsule collection of styles influenced by Elvis Presley.
