Lady Gaga making the headlines for her sartorial choices may not be anything new, but we've got reason to believe that this one will spark even more excitement than usual. Yesterday, photos of the American singer touring the Louvre Museum in Paris surfaced on Instagram and were soon heavily circulated amongst the fashion crowd — not because of Gaga's impecabbly coiffured hair or her neon orange dress, but because of the black leather handbag on her arm.
The bag in question is, in fact, Hedi Slimane's first handbag for Céline, and the first of his designs to be revealed since his appointment as the brand's Artistic Director in January. As to how it ended up on Lady Gaga, the popstar's stylist stated that Slimane had "gifted her the bag". This may not come as a surprise to Gaga's Little Monsters, who would already know that the singer has been an ardent supporter and a close friend of Slimane since his days at Saint Laurent.
The rest of the designer's debut Céline collection will be shown on 28 September at Paris Fashion Week, but until then, you can feast your eyes on these snaps of Lady Gaga:
