It is no mean feat for a person in the creative industry to stay in the job for 10 years. There is, therefore, much cause for celebration for Dutch designer Lucas Ossendrijver, who began his tenure at French luxury brand Lanvin in 2006 as head of menswear. To celebrate his 10th anniversary, a capsule collection entitled “10 Years” was released, one that includes three pairs of trainers, a sweater, a T-shirt and this gorgeous Lanvin spider rucksack.
The calfskin and nylon zip-up Lanvin spider rucksack is supposedly Ossendrijver’s favourite of the collection, and comes with a host of features: a zip laptop compartment in the back, a front zip pocket, two flat smartphone pockets inside, side pockets with poppers and leather straps. Most distinctive is the embroidered arachnid, at once beautiful and fearsome. An ancient symbol of mystery, power and growth, it is the perfect creature to reflect Ossendrijver’s own person and the quietly influential empire he has built at Lanvin with the menswear arm.
Need a gift for the man who is fearless, adventurous and gets a kick out of the dangerous? This is it! The Lanvin spider rucksack is priced at SGD2,490 and available from Lanvin Hilton Hotel 01-19/20, tel: 6304 1361.
