In a palette of classic darks, dusty pastels and saturated brights, it is hard to not feel the least uplifted by Bottega Veneta’s Cruise 2017 collection. Creative director Tomas Maier continued the bold hues for versatility, hoping that these would be wardrobe essentials that transcend seasons and location.
The elongated silhouettes from Autumn/Winter 2016 also see a comeback for the transitional season. Full devoré velvet suits are kept precisely tailored to avoid looking old-fashioned, and worn with longer pants to further accentuate the length of garment.
“This collection, as always, is meant as a continuity from the runway, while displaying a large palette of colours that lift the mood of the season. A large variety of materials are used for the various geographic destinations in the world,” mused Maier.
Bottega Veneta’s accessories for the boys this season include the ever-versatile Weekender bag in double suede and crocodile trim, a graphic striped document case and rail-track suede boots. Much like the ready-to-wear range, the brand’s accessories come in an exciting plethora of colours.
