Studs started with the Punk movement in the 70s, thanks to fashion designers like Vivienne Westwood. Yet it didn’t make mass appeal until the 1980s, and it’s becoming increasingly evident that the decade will define 2017. Our eyes are glued to these studded accessories since they’re so memorable design-wise. Each is packed with attitude.

Lady Dior — Dior
The Lady Dior is completely transformed from elegant icon to a bag with attitude. We also love that the Dior logo comes in a square, serif font.

Oversized Cabas — Céline
The Parisian house is known for its minimalist designs, so its application of studs is unsurprisingly careful. Yet there is still a rawness that makes the item unique.

Shoulder Harness — Gucci
Nothing like using fetish-inspired garments to make a provocative statement. While the biggest trend of the season remains with the square shoulder, there’s plenty of other ways to bolden your upper joints.

Strapped Pouch — Versace
With an haute athletic collection, it’s only natural for the Italian behemoth to design practical bags. The strap defines its utilitarian style, and with a flat figure it forces you to just bring the essentials.

Cutout Booties — Coach
The girls at coach wore floral feminine attire on the runway. (florals for Spring? Groundbreaking). Jokes aside, the looks received creative designer Stuart Vevers’ twist — with these shoes to match, the look became cool. We love juxtapositions.
